Seminar Fellows

Create a space for students to share their thoughts.

Seminar Fellows are faculty members who join Honors Seminar as thoughtful peer participants. They help build community, engage in discussion alongside students, offer supportive feedback to presenters, and share one seminar of their own during Wisdom Week to spark curiosity and conversation. Fellows are there to enrich the shared intellectual space—not to lead or evaluate it.

Who can Participate?

Seminar fellows are nominated and selected based on their excellence in teaching, mentorship, and student engagement, and for their ability to foster belonging, curiosity, and build confidence among students. 

  • Faculty from any department on campus are eligible to participate in this fellowship.

What does a Seminar Fellow do?

Each Fellow will be assigned their own section of Seminar to attend. They serve alongside our students as a thoughtful peer participant throughout the semester. 

Specifically, Seminar Fellows:

  • Build community by chatting with students before class;
  • Participate in discussions as thoughtful peers, helping deepen conversation without leading it;
  • Offer brief, supportive comments to each student presenter;
  • Present their own seminar during Wisdom Week in a way that sparks curiosity; and
  • Join the Honors Director and other Fellows for lunch several times during the semester. 

Fellows do not serve as the instructor of record and hold no responsibilities for administration or oversight of the course.
