Biography

Professor Tom Sammons possesses 37 years of teaching experience. He is the Director of the Community Design Workshop (CDW), a position he has held for over 25 years. During his tenure, the CDW has completed over 100 projects with the total amount of grants exceeding $4 million.

Professor Sammons was awarded a Fulbright Hays Fellowship for study in China in 2004, named Distinguished Professor for the Āé¶¹AV in 2005, and is Chairman of the Campus Planning Committee. He also holds the Contractors Educational Trust Fund/BORSF Professor in Art and Architecture Chair.

Student Research/Collaboration

CDW Projects include: collaborating with consultants on the I-49 Connector Project, developing Master Plans for Louisiana National Guard Camps, developing Master Plans for multiple Louisiana small towns, re-designing the University Quadrangle, and designing the University Bike Path
